About the project
The moral tale is a literary genre which peaked during the 18th century, a time when the rise of rationality and free thought posed challenges to ways of life and patterns of behaviour that were firmly entrenched in strong traditions assigning social roles and genres. Ana Jotta, Joelle de La Casinere, and Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven use fables and caricatures to present their observations and critiques of the cruelty inherent to human relationships. Three Moral Tales is a publication designed by Bureau Roman Seban to accompony the exhibition of Ana Jotta, Joelle de La Casiniere, and Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven artworks. The publication functions as an index, focusing on one single, previously unpublished, body of work of each of the artists.
